Hano iHub - Leapforging Innovative Ecosystem is a business incubator that was formerly known as Hano Social Innovation Hub. The incubator is a community-driven initiative that is dedicated to fostering social innovation and driving positive change in Somali society. Its mission is to create a more equitable and sustainable society in Somalia by promoting social entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration. iHub provides a supportive environment for entrepreneurs, including youth, women, IDPs, refugee returnees, and university graduates, to test their innovativeness and ability to bring ideas into reality. The incubator also hosts events and workshops to promote awareness of social issues and encourage collaboration between different stakeholders. One of the unique features of Hano iHub is its focus on a variety of social issues, including environmental sustainability, education, health, and poverty alleviation. By providing resources and support to entrepreneurs tackling these issues, Hano iHub hopes to create a more vibrant and inclusive social sector in Somalia. The incubator provides a clear pre-incubation program to support potential entrepreneurs in defining their business ideas and developing their business plans to the point where they can be evaluated as profitable enterprises. The program includes mentorship, training, and networking opportunities to help entrepreneurs build the skills and connections they need to succeed. Hano iHub offers a range of programs and services to help social entrepreneurs develop their ideas, including Training, Rental Offices, Co-working space, Business Bootcamp, Business Networking, Coaching and mentoring, Business Showers, Networking Opportunities and access to funding. It also supports Hano Academy’s graduates to access Business Start-up Kits/Tools, and Business Support Services for new entrepreneurs and SMEs to access micro-business finance, network and technology. Hano iHub is managed by Hano Academy, which has a track record of running and managing successful business incubators, including Saanqaad Business Incubator, an EU-funded project implemented by UNHABITAT, UNDP, UNHCR, and BRA in Mogadishu, Somalia.
